    Good News

Good news, but Apple could not lower it $50 and make it all an even $999?

    Now

Now all Apple has to do is offer the eMac to the general public for the same price, stand back, and watch it fly off the shelves.

    Re: old news

Perhaps you should rethink your position. This is a valid story. Originally the low-end eMac was only available to institutions. This is not old news. Think before you post.

The low-end eMac was available on-line a few days after the line was introduced. There was a quiote from Greg Joswiak on May 1 saying it would be available by the end of that week, and it was.

This IS old news. The low-end eMac has been available at $1049 to education individuals for weeks now.
