CharisMac hopes to appeal to owners of Mac OS X-incompatible USB CD-RW drives with the introduction of its first hardware product. The CharisMac FireWire bridge will allow owners of external USB CD-RW drives to retrofit their devices with FireWire. Many Sony CD-RW drives use a USB enclosure/bridge to connect an ATAPI-based drive externally, some such devices do not work with Mac OS X.
