Circuit City offers $100 rebate

updated 09:40 pm EST, Sat December 16, 2000

Circuit City will begin offering its own $100 rebate off the price of any new iBook, iMac or G4 Cube as a "Manager's Special" starting tomorrow (12/17) and running through Saturday (12/23). This rebate can be combined with the existing HP/Apple $100 rebate (when you buy an iMac or iBook and an HP 648C printer) and the existing $300 G4 Cube rebate from Apple.

    Circuit City and cube

Yes Circuit City started selling the Cube.
They've had them for a few weeks now and they advertised them in this sundays circular.

    software

Now if only they'd sell some software that worked with that fancy new machine...and get a few salespeople who knew the Mac merchandise. Hmmmm, I wonder if the $100 rebate undercuts Apple's SRP. If so, Circuit City could start a price war and piss Apple off. That would be fun.

    So what does that total?

So, what does this total? If you get a G4 Cube and 15" flat panel display, that's $1800 for the Cube, $1000 for the monitor, minus $300 rebate for buying an Apple monitor with the CPU, and $100 manager's special from Circuit City. So that works out to $2400, right? Or $5400 with the 22" Cinema Display?

It's a betted deal, but not amazing. I'm waiting for January.

    A bit off topic, but...

Congratulations and much success to Circuit City, for the great Mac displays in the Atlanta and Augusta GA areas. I have visited several, and all Mac areas are flooded with customers.

    chernobyl mac

When the cube first came out I went to Circuit City in Roseville hoping to catch a glimpse of it. A salesperson headhunted me and at the mention of a mac his only comment was a warning that the problem with these imacs is that they are all hotplates and ovens. I didn't bother to respond, nor will I return.
