Users: Apple cuts SSL email support
updated 11:35 pm EDT, Tue May 21, 2002
Apple has apparently halted support for the SSL (Secure Sockets Layer) protocol previously available to Mac.com email users, according to a MacNN reader. Users attempting to connect with SSL login enabled in their email client have found themselves unable to connect to the Mac.com mail servers. Apple has not informed users of any permanent change; it remains unclear if this is due to technical difficulties.
