Apple allows unregistered users to view KBase

A MacNN reader notes that Apple no longer requires users to login to view the Knowledge Database. "You can once again search the KBase without having to register with Apple. If you wish to personalize your support page, you would still need the Apple ID."

    This was on Macintouch last week. Apple's about-face is likely due to Ric Ford's recent reports on the problems with the KnowledgeBase. Thanks Ric.

    Alternatively, non-Apple users could continue to look at Microsoft's Knowledge Base site to learn about all sorts of very necessary patches needing download to prevent all kinds of nasty viruses and exploits. :^)

    For Pete sake

    Anyone with half a brain would know that a Knowledge base is normally used to answer question that pertain to problems. Why would anyone in their right mind post Knowledge Base articles on things that are working fine. Get a grip!

    Reading a story about Apple removing login requirements from the KB, and at the same time seeing the following sentence at the bottom of the page:

    "Note: in order to post comments, you must be a registered member of the MacNN Reader Forum and logged in."
