Samsung this month announced its new TFT-LCD product line which offers high-performance, low-cost 19-inch high-resolution SXGA and UXGA TFT-LCDs and six 17-inch TFT-LCDs for TFT-monitor and TV applications as well as 2 new high-brightness 17-inch CRT monitors.
Marketed under the WiseView brand, Samsung's new TFT-LCDs offer a 500:1 contrast ratio, 25ms and better response time for television picture rates, up to a 170-degree wide conical viewing angle for easy readability, and an enhanced brightness of up to 450 nits. [site not updated]
Earlier this month the company introduced two 17-inch CRT monitors under its SyncMaster brand with new electron guns and other changes that it says will "provide television like brightness without color shifts, blurriness or reduced contrast." Both models have three settings, the lowest of which emulates conventional screen-brightness levels, while the 765MB also allows users to set different levels on different parts of the screen. The 763MB is $220, and the 765MB is $230.
