Sugar Cube Software's open-source CocoaSpriteKit has reached the second stage of beta testing with the release of CocoaSpriteKit b2 for Mac OS X. CocoaSpriteKit is built from the ground up with Objective-C, and utilizes Apple's Quartz compositing engine. Although mainly designed for 2D games, developers are encouraged to find more creative uses for the CSK technology. Beta 2 offers improved screen saver support, introduces a formal plug-in architecture for games, and adds a runtime debugging tool.
