Apple will be opening a new retail store in Fashion Show Mall on the Las Vegas Strip by the end of the year, according to an article on the expansion of the mall in the Las Vegas Review Journal.

Seems very logically consistent to me. After you risk some money on sports or slots or table games, you can risk a few thousand dollars on hardware that Apple may completely drop support for within six months.

Even if people don't buy a Mac from the Vegas store, I think they couldn't have better exposure. Do you have any idea how many tourists go to Vegas a year?
I'm Canadian and went for the first time a couple of years ago. I LOVED it!. Its tacky, its cheap but the lights, the LIGHTS!

We actually have an apple specialist in Las Vegas (Century 23 computers) and there's another Mac specific shop in a mini mall on Flamingo a few miles west of the strip.

Las Vegas is only about seven hours away from here... You need more in New England?! Right now I'd have to drive to Colorado or California to get to an Apple Store. A Las Vegas store would cut my drive time by about three hours, but it would still take a whole weekend to go there.
Where's my NYC Apple Store!!!!!????
