Mark Tuleweit e-mailed us that the software update panel says the Apple CPU Plugins version 2.7 are now available. This update is only available for PowerMac G4 systems. No details other than that this update will improve reliabilty with PowerMac G4 systems.

I don't have a MP G4 and it still installed the "Apple CPU Plugins" in a Multiprocessing folder.
all I got was a notice for DFA 8.6. Didn't even have to restart.

The PowerSurge2PPlugin looks for a device named Hammerhead, which is the known codename for the current batch of Apple's G4 MP PowerMacs.

It seems a MP plugin
It is installed into the Multiprocessing folder (inside the extension folder) and it contains the following codes:
- PowerSurge2PPlugin (10K)
- G3Plugin (16K)
- Core99Plugin (49K)
I think it is useful only for MP G4 computers.
