Microsoft warns, Adobe beats the street

updated 05:10 pm EST, Thu December 14, 2000

Microsoft today announced that its second quarter profits and revenues would fall short of expectations, joining the ranks for Apple, Compaq, Gateway, AMD, and Intel in issuing such warnings. Adobe, meanwhile, beat analyst expectations by five cents after reporting earnings of 34 cents. Revenue also came $2 million ahead of expectations at $353.56 million, up from $281.8 million last year. Shares of Adobe were battered today, however, dropping more than 13 percent after several analysts downgraded the stock.

    Adobe drops?

AFter beating expectations? This only goes to show how ridiculous the market is right now. Do analysts, and more importantly, buyers and sellers of stock think that the computing and internet industries are really deserving of their current valuations? This is so hard to understand.
But when a company beats expectations and then still gets hammered? That's retarded.
