Doug's AppleScripts has released iTunes Library Manager v1.2, an applet that allows you to make a back-up copy of your "iTunes Music Library (2)" file, allowing users to save multiple copies of various Library/playlist configurations which the applet is able to retrieve at any time. Version 1.2 allows you to over-write a previously backed-up Library with an updated version. Four iPod Scripts 1.1, also available, includes 'Random Albums to iPod', 'Random Artist to iPod', 'Random iPod', and 'Clean iPod'.

    "iTunes Music Library(2)

Why is there a "(2)" in this file name? Not knowing it was that way for a reason, I've tried to change that file name unsuccessfully on occasion.

    Hmmmm.

    (2)

The (2) of the "iTunes Music Library (2)" file differentiates it from the one created by iTunes v1.x. The 2 refers to iTunes v2.x. As you have discovered, you can't change it.
