MicroNet announces OS X compatible SANcube

MicroNet today announced OS X compatible configurations of its SANcube, its FireWire SAN (Storage Area Network). The single-user SANcube provides up to 720 GB of online storage and delivers up to 33 MB/sec data throughput, while the new dual channel SANcube X-stream arrays offer up to 720GB capacities, and achieve up to 65 MB/sec sustained throughput by striping data across two FireWire busses. The company says that OS X compatibility is currently limited to single attached systems. The 720GB version of the SANcube and the dual-channel SANcube X-stream arrays will be available for shipment in May 2002. Upgrades consists of software and firmware; current owners of the SANcubes can send in their SANcube to MicroNet for single-user OS X upgrade for $270.

Single User SAN???
Maybe I'm wrong, but only 1 user on a SAN is kind of pointless. I thought a SAN was a NETWORK, which to me means at a very minimum, more than 1 user. As is, it seems to just be a fancy Firewire box.
