Apple's Together at last promo offers $150 off the purchase of the PowerBook G4, a flat panel display, and a new Apple DVI to ADC Adapter. It runs from April 30th through June 30th.

sounds like an awful deal.
DVI goes to any digital display. But DVI lacks the integrated power and USB of apple ADC displays. So for a non-Apple digital display, you're all set with no adapter needed. If you want an Apple display, you'll need the DVI-ADC adapter, and will gain a USB hub in the process. If you want an old VGA display, Apple has a DVI-VGA adapter included with the PowerBook.
The adapter is a fairly complex item if you check it out. Thus the $150 price tag. This promo makes it free: add an Apple flat display to your new PBook without extra cost. Not bad.
