Gefen's ex-tend-it DVI-to-VGA Conversion Box connects a computer's digital (DVI) port to an analog (VGA) monitor. The device comes equipped with its own power supply and cables and offers analog/digital conversion. It is $400.

The extend products I have used were problematic and over priced. Ten bucks get a DVI to VGA adapter that actually works and can be extended 300 feet with good coax cable.

Ok, I suppose this product was really designed for the ex-tend-it feature, in which case it may be worth some extra $$$, but for the average user wanting to hook up a VGA monitor to a DVI connection, I think the $19 cable should work just fine...
