Reader: ViaVoice headset issues go unresolved

MacNN Reader John Davidson recently wrote to IBM concerting the headset that comes with the company's ViaVoice voice recognition software. "The problem is that the earphone connector does not fit the new iMac socket. IBM had no solution; they said they would get back to me on 4/15 but never did. They also said that I should not attempt to connect the headset with an adapter that would fit the earphone socket because this might damage the iMac." ViaVoice users who still use the included headset from IBM are advised to contact technical support to seek a solution; as noted by IBM, users should not attempt to use adapters.
