Macs in action: "Mac, Lies, & DV Tape"
updated 02:55 pm EDT, Fri April 19, 2002
Mac, Lies, & DV Tape covers Oscar-winning director Steven Soderbergh's use of Macs (and other Apple software such as Final Cut Pro) on his next (all-digital) film, "Full Frontal," an "unauthorized sequel" to his hit "sex, lies, and videotape." (Soderbergh has directed other films such as "Traffic," "Erin Brockovich" and "Ocean’s 11.")

This is a joke
I find this hilarious. On the first page, there's a quote from the producer who says, "It’s important to note that we shot and edited with equipment available to everyone."
Then on the fourth page they list all the eqiup that they used. I didn't bother to add it up, but it looks like at least $200,000 worth. Plus all the trained technicians (colour correctors, sound recorders, editors, etc.) Plus the use of Hollywood actors.
I don't doubt that this will be an interesting project to see, but come on, give me a break. This was hardly a few guys getting together on the weekend to make a video.
35mm film equipment is also "available to everyone", you just need to hop on down to the equipment house and rent it.
Ridiculous.
