HairerSoft has released Amadeus II v3.5, its shareware ($25) disk-based, visual waveform audio file editing and analyzing application for the MacOS and MacOS X. Amadeus II offers live audio recording, digitizing tapes and records, sampling from any external source and for editing and analyzing Mp3, Ogg Vorbis, AIFF, SoundDesigner II, QuickTime or WAVE files. It offers support for up to 2GB (up to 3 hours of CD-quality music) with extensive support for markers. Version 3.5 offers better performance under OS X, fast-foward/rewind playback functions, AltiVec enhancements, real-time VST effects, and advanced MP3 encoding (including support for LAME 3.91).

Good to see another audio app for OSX. Slowly but surely, they'll come. I hope.

    (including support for LAME 3.91).
^that's a pretty funny acronym... LAME... does that mean it has winXP support, too!!?? :)

    LAME

LAME in not just that windows app. It is the free low quality MP3 encoding algorithm.

    SoundEdit 16

Speaking of audio editors, does anybody know what's happend to SoundEdit 16? I learned to use this program in school, but now I can't seem to find out where to buy this program for myself. Macromedia has apparently bought it, but it looks like they only offer support on their website, not let you buy it.

I wonder if this Amadeus would be a good replacement.
