UBS Warburg has upgraded its rating on Apple Computer to a "Strong Buy" from 'Hold' due to strong new products and "APPL's ability to be a leader in developing pervasive computing opportunities." UBS Warburg cautions that the Apple may miss Q2 expectations (noting that its estimates is below consensus), but says that the outlook for the second half of 2002 should be stronger than expected and that Apple should "be able to outperform Wintel competitors." UBS has raised its 2002 fiscal year estimtes to $0.53 (from $0.49) and its 2002 fiscal year estimates to $0.85 (from $0.72) as well as its price target to $30.50 from $23.

    Goodbye

Goodbye Microsoft! This is the beginning of the end. Get out out of the multimedia market, cause you are gonna get blown away. Better stick to your business and calculator type apps, and not even think about wasting your money and R&D on WMP, DVD authoring, and content creation as a whole. You can't compete with us, so go cater to the boring folks you know will always be loyal.

    Analysts ?

Talk about a bunch of cry-babies who react like 8 years old kids. There used to be a time when analysts considered Apple as dead - I'm not sure that time is over for everyone. Speculation is one thing but let's face it, when they hear a rumor, they all wet their pants because "ooh boy, that unconfirmed rumor scares the h*** out of us. Mom, what are we gonna do ?" See how the oil price went up because of the crisis in the Middle East though there was not indication whatsoever about a possible shortage, even with Irak's embargo.

Plus, Merrill Lynch is under some investigation because some analysts publicly said some companies were strong buy when internal reports said quite the opposite.

I hate the stock exchange. It doesn't mean anything anymore except maybe cutting more and more jobs. Many corporate companies conceal real figures so their stock value remains high. Anyone heard about Enron ? Even IBM has been cited for doing this. So, as far as reflecting the general economy, I don't see why or how.
