    Must be a beta.

There have been so many changes to the fundamental kernel-level layer that there's just no way they're going to ship in early May without having released a proper beta to ADC members.

It must be a beta. I hope. Or I fear we're going to see a lot of unhappy people until 10.2.1.

    10.1.4 First

We won't see 10.2 until we see 10.1.4 first. BUT apple did promise us a full 0.5 upgrade every 6 months.
