    Huge

The full Toast 5.1.3 update is 10MB, Spin Doctor Update is 4MB, Audion is 16.4MB, Discus Updater is 62MB and iView updater is 5MB.

All told around 100MB. They also offer the update on CD for $15.

    thats because

Roxio doesn't know how to provide an update instead they give you the whole damn program again!! First it scans to see if you have the program installed and registered then it gives you a complete new version of it...LAME if u ask me

    So close...

    ...so far away.

Before, I could not burn at all because it couldn't see my POC Que!Fire. Well, now we see it, we try to burn but now it tells me that I have too many items. Huh? OK, so I remove some items, try again, remove another file , another folder , ok....so now I am down 430 MB and it appears that we're ready to go (please note that my excitement is nothing short of patronizing). I choose the Buffer Underun Protection box and begin to burn... BUFFER UNDERRUN ERROR Burn slower, please! WTH!

C'mon, Roxio. Deliver something at least to Micro$oft's level!

    Whiners

What's up with all the whining? Roxio updated Toast, that's a GOOD thing, don't whine because the update is a whole 10 MB. Even modem users can download 10 MB without any trouble. If you like just start the download when you go to sleep at night and it will be done when you wake up!

I swear Macs are magnates for bitchy whiners.

    yeah ... ok

we are not whining...we are offering our 2 cents to make the company better. A better updater means happier customers. happier customers mean return customers.

    On the other hand...

Roxio has been an excellent and responsive company with regular updates coming every month or so. I wish every developer were so dedicated. And dimplemonkey, are you sure your system is set up properly? I don't experience the same problems with Toast and my piece-o-c*** Formac CDRW.

    For 9.1 too? Not clear

Hi all, is this update for 9.1 users too? the specs talk about 9.1, but then I see only an osx update? i'mm confused. I have 5.0 2, previously the latest version...
    thanks for your help.

    Answer and Question

It should work for both, as it is carbon. But I don't believe there would be a need to use the updater in OS 9. If it ain't broke.....

On the other hand, I am on OS X and mine is not broken either. I tried to install it and I get "Error creating file. 1008:5,-5000 Access denied error"

Yes I am logged in as admin. Yes I did fix the bug with the permissions in the Apps folder.

    Any other ideas?

    RE: yeah...ok

Sure you can voice (whine) your opinions here, but comments are recognized by a developer more often if you actually deliver them directly to them!
