The Omni Group has release OmniWeb 4.1 Public Beta 2, a new version of the popular browser for OS X. The second public beta adds better Java support, improved JavaScript compatibility, more CSS improvements, less memory utilization, improved stability, user interface enhancements, a Dock indicator for changed bookmarks, and compatibility preferences for easily masquerading as another browser, and a Find/Replace function in the Source View as well as other enhancements.

    Nice

I hate to say it, but it's snappier :-). Truly, it renders faster than the sneaky peek builds and scrolling is tolerable. Good work. Add tabbed browsing and this would be the best browser for OSX period.

    So when...

are they ever going to decide that this thing is ready for the world? Like, not a beta?

    nice program

I like the multiline bookmark toolbar. Very ingenious. Still, why can't they support Java at NWS completely? I exit the Java page and the browser bombs out. The good thing is, I did manage to e-mail the crash report to Omniweb this time, where before that didn't work. Also they still don't support the stylesheet borders as found on the standards website at w3.org. This is even though they say improved stylesheet support. Opera, iCab, Netscape 6, Mozilla, and IE all support Stylesheet borders. But not Omniweb 4.1b2. Oh by the way, I don't always have a chance to test every browser at each new update. I have this browser comparison webpage which is somewhat outdated, but if you see something that has improved, please comment on the page:
