Internet Streaming Media Alliance launched

Apple, Cisco, Kasenna, Philips, Sun Microsystems and other companies, have launched the Internet Streaming Media Alliance. ISMA's mission is to accelerate the market adoption of open standards for streaming rich media over Internet Protocol. The first formal meeting is scheduled for February, when ISMA founders will circulate for review an initial specification for MPEG-4 over IP. Neither Microsoft nor Real Networks are members.
