    Shove that puck...

Dumbass canuck... It's not "booh yeah", you moron.

It's "boo yah" or "boo ya" or even "booya".

    ahem...

i'm not a huge fan of people reverting to the "first post" drivel that littered these message boards 6-8 months ago, but your comments are crude, utterly pointless, and simply intended to incite retaliation (a trap in which, i suppose, i have fallen). Please keep such commentary to yourself in the future.

    Green-haired dude

In the video of the opening day at the Biltmore (Phoenix, AZ) Apple Store, you can see a dude at the checkout with green hair. Very striking. Especially since I just saw him at the Apple Store at Southpoint, in Durham NC, on *their* opening day last month. So... is the green-haired dude a ringer they fly from store to store for grand openings? Or is he unable to hold down a job, but irresistible to Apple Store hiring managers? Anybody seen the green-haired dude at other openings?

    Seattle???

Okay, so there are TWO stores in Phoenix, but the closest store to Seattle is in Palo Alto, CA. Hmmm...that's only about 850 MILES away!

Heck, Phoenix is closer to Palo Alto than Seattle is!

Hope they aren't intentionally avoiding MS Land. Portland would be fine, too. Of course, lots of Intel there.

    legacy systems on display

Surprised to see old iMacs and a toilet seat iBook (scuse me French) in the store (as shown in the video). I'd have thought that they'd only be showing off the current product lines.

    re: legacy systems

a.) the CRT, G3-based iMacs are still being sold by Apple as a low-cost alternative (see Apple Store online)

b.) the graphite iBook was, if i am not mistaken, being used by a store patron at the genius bar -- not being shwon off by staff personnel as a shipping model.

    Re: legacy systems

They are only showing off current product lines... Check the video out again:

The "old iMac" you speak of is still available for purchase and works just great for a low-end computer, especially for kids, which is what the display is for.

The "toilet seat iBook" you speak of is a customer's laptop (if you look closelyin the video you can see how he's on the 'non-genius' side of the genius bar, aka, the non-apple-employee side) so not really the Apple Store showing the iBook off.

And the video is certainly not done by Apple :-) But all around very cool to see, and I know I still get excitement out of seeing those stores open. Albeit a bit weird having 2 Apple stores in Phoenix and missing in other major locations around the country... Michigan Ave. in Chicago? ;-)
