Apple Discussion Support down

updated 09:10 am EST, Fri March 22, 2002

MacNN reader Steve Wolf notes that Apple's Discussion support site has been down since March 18th due to server maintenance, according to a message posted at the Website: "...This past weekend we upraded the server softare that runs Apple Discussions. Doing so will enable to us to improve Apple Discussions even more...There may be some slight interruptions as we finish the move to the new server software." Apple has not provided an update the server status nor an expected time for the site's return. [MacNN's discussions forum is another place for users to search and ask for support]

    Steve Wolf?

Isn't Steve Wolf the guy on Party of Five? Do we have an Apple Master in our midst?

    Or was that Scott?

    follow up on this story

    hi all,

this morning if you go to http://discussions.info.apple.com, you get just the following message --

"Apple Discussions is temporarily unavailable due to System Maintenance.
We expect to have everything normal very soon."

... with an OK button at the right below that. that's it, nothing else, no date or time of expected service, period. even if you *don't* hit the OK button, your browser is then automatically scripted to take you back to the main http://www.apple.com/support page, no matter what.

(oh, and i'm just a software tester/tech, not "scott wolf." ;o) tho' i thought he was great in the movie "go" and wish i pulled down his income or got some of his women. ;o))) this is why i go by the nickname i got in college, 'faddah,' as in 'hello muddah, hello faddah...')

as this hallmark of service rolls on...

    I smell a rat.

Apple has been catching h*** lately on those boards. Monitors (flatpanel and others) going kerblooey right after warranty is up, no iMacs available, and now they raise the price.

I say they could not stand the heat and shut those boards down.

(and if you have not heard of all the screaming going on as regards the issues that i refer to, then you have not been hitting the right sites, in particular MacInTouch.com has been rife with all sorts of issues and remarks about how the Apple Discussion Boards have been flooded with complaints of late, regarding many issues)
