Heuris ships Xtractor - DVD ripping software

updated 10:55 pm EST, Tue March 19, 2002

Heuris today announced the initial release of Xtractor, an application that can be used to extract, or "rip," audio and video files from unencrypted DVDs. Users can "de-multiplex" and extract elementary streams from MPEG-1 system streams, MPEG-2 program streams and MPEG-2 transport streams -- including those HDTV streams recorded with a DTV decoder card. Xtractor is currently available directly from Heuris for $149.
