Sony and Palm have entered into a marketing agreement to develop "strategic" Bluetooth programs for carriers and their customers. The companies plan to deliver a series of Bluetooth-enabled mobile phones and communications products by the end of 2002, including a solution that would allow users to tap a phone number on a PDA that would be automatically dialed on a cell phone.

    And then?

"including a solution that would allow users to tap a phone number on a PDA that would be automatically dialed on a cell phone."

    That is so revolutionary :-0
Geez, I can do that now on my aging Visor Prism,
though I admit I can't send an email AND talk at the same time.

How about a mobile videophone instead?

    Cool but...

I'd rather have GPRS over bluetooth rather than simple dialing features. That's why I use one-touch (you know, you hold down a button and it dials the person you assign to it). But I guess having the ability to do 1000s of numbers is great. Except you have to hold both pda and cellphone. Now if you could use both a bluetooth wireless headset AND use the pda to dial, that would be cool. Then you can SMS, talk, email whatever all simultaneously (sp?)

    And now

And now all those weasely headed whiners who cried back in 1998-1999 about Apple not supporting bluetooth can possibly come out of the woodwork to whine again about why Apple is not still supporting it. Gee I wonder why?
