MacNN readers continue to provide notes on upcoming openings of new retail Apple Stores, which have yet to be announced on Apple's Retail Website.

[Anonymous] "Another Apple Store will be opening up in late March/Early April in the Phoenix Arizona area. This store is located in the Biltmore Fashion Park, which is in the center of Phoenix's upper class retail district.
[Dave Sawyer] "Apple is also hiring for a second Apple Store in Denver (Colorado). The new store will be in the Cherry Creek Mall area, either the mall itself (most likely) or the nearby retail area - the job listings aren't specific. The Cherry Creek mall and associated retail area are the most "upscale" retail area in the Denver Metro area, with stores like Saks Fifth Avenue, Neimann Marcus, Bang and Olufsen, Bose, and other shops aimed at affluent consumers. The Cherry Creek Mall is also Denver's No. 1 tourist destination. All in all, a good location for Apple."

Detroit when?

Come on- please put on near the detroit area! Sommer Set Mall would be a nice spot! I live in East Lansing and I know they are not going to put one here- so at least detroit! The closest is Chicago for me- and I have yet to go there. :-(

It is funny that there are two Apple stores on the Phoenix area. However, the population is more than ample to support both stores. Phoenix has more than 1.2 million residents...the state has over 6 million (up from 4.7 Million in 1998).
Anyway, I can see the location of the new one from my apartment! Woohoo!

What about me?

When will we get an Apple Store in Salt Lake? They just opened a brand new, upscale mall right in downtown that would be a great place for an Apple Store. Denver is currently the closest one, and a trip there would take a whole weekend. Even Las Vegas would be closer.

Finally, it's official that they're building a store in Novi! Yay us! Ohio got two stores... Ohio? What's up with that? I mean, the University of Michigan only provided the first working TCP stack to the Mac platform... :p I hope they'll be plunking a store down in Grand Rapids, too.

Gateway Seattle - Gone!

Just walked by corner that used to house the Gateway store downtown by Nike and Gameworks Etc and it was gone -- finally. What an eyesore that place was. I went in once and asked if they had Final Cut Pro for Windows and the guy said "no, but we can order it for you". I pointed out that it was a mac only application for editing digital video and he said "I'm aware of what it is and there's a PC version". I laughed in his face and walked out.

Come on Apple - Seattle needs an Apple store right there in the same spot - right by the Westin Hotel and the two biggest mall's in downtown.

Ooooooo.... 1.2 million, and 2 Apple Stores!

We've got 4.x million here in Toronto, and still not even 1 Apple Store. The growth of the Apple platform has been huge and consistent here in Canada... Apple should reward us by making it more convenient for us to sponsor their fabulous efforts!!

What about Atlanta?

We've got 4 million + here in Atlanta too, and no Apple Store (yet). Apple's job listings have shown a store is APPARENTLY opening in Lenox Square, but this has been dragging out for MONTHS now. Any word on when it will actually open? Or am I going to have to move back to Minneapolis so I can shop at the Mall of America store?

Well, that 1.2 million is just counted adults. Total pop is closer to 3.2 million...and a state growth rate more than 3x that of the rest of the country. I agree that other areas would benefit from an Apple store...I have no idea why they open them where they do. Are there any Apple only stores in Toronto? Until the Apple store opened in Chandler the only thing mac users knew here was mail / web order (or WorstBuy / Fry's).

We have "Westworld" stores here in Canada (well, on the West coast) ... But I don't think we'll get an Apple store in Alberta ... more likely BC (Vancouver or Victoria) and Toronto/Montreal somewhere ... they should at least have those 2 areas covered with all the creative professionals out of those areas (and those areas being the only REALLY populated areas of this whole country. ... heck, our whole population (of Canada) equals that to the State of NewYork.
