A MacNN reader notes that a second Apple retail store is scheduled to open in Dallas in November on "Knox-Henderson avenue, a trendy area with quite a few local and national-brand stores just north of the downtown area."

    Actually...

This will be the third Apple Store in the Dallas/Ft. Worth area. The first store, of course is the one in Plano at the Shops at Willow Bend. The second one is in The Grapevine Mills Mall in Grapevine. Then of course the announcement of this Knox-Henderson location.

    SOL in Seattle, I guess.

Now cities are getting multiple Apple stores when the Pac. Northwest has yet to get one. Seattle does have one excellent store (a chain out of Portland) but nothing in the downtown core.

Is it our proximity to Redmond? h***, if I were Steve, I would open one in Redmond Town Center.

    DAMN.

Those crackers have HOW MANY Apple Stores and NYC, THE BIG APPLE, has NONE.

Yeah yeah... there's one that was supposed to be open late last year in SOHO but has yet to materialize, yes there is a site for it, and construction is "under way", but... freaking terrorist scum, 9/11 has f*cked so many things here...

    Woo-Hoo!

I live 4 stop lights away from the Knox-Henderson area. This rocks! I can WALK to this new Apple Store.

No more driving 40 minutes to Far North Dallas!

    Apple is spoiling me :)

    outside US

Will there be Apple stores outside the US? It would be nice to have one here in Montreal.

    Houston?

There are "0" Apple Stores in Houston. Houston is the fourth largest city in the U.S. (bigger than Dallas) and we have a HUGE Mac market.

I can't believe Steve keeps jumping over us just because Comcrap...er, Compaq is there. It is not like Compaq has competing retail stores (except for some stupid outlet stores in the boonies).

All we want is one, Steve...just one!

    Grapevine Mills?

I too have never heard of there being an Apple store in Grapevine Mills mall. (I don't live near that mall, so I've never been there to check.) I drove all the way to the Willow Bend mall thinking that it had the only Apple store in Texas.

I just checked www.grapevinemills.com and found their store directory. No Apple store. So either the original poster is mistaken or the websites of both Grapevine Mills and the Apple Store are out of date. Maybe it's an up and coming store, like this Knox/Henderson one that was announced.

I would be happy just to have two (or even one) Apple stores in Texas. I'm not greedy. In an earlier forum a while back, somebody was pleading that they needed more Apple stores in California. California! You've got a bazillion already. How greedy can you be, especially when other states and countries have zero!

You don't have to buy from an Apple store anyway. There are independent Mac dealers out there who've been complaining that Apple stores have been fully stocked with G4 iMacs at the expense of all the little-guy stores that are trying to stay in business.

    Also 2nd Store in Denver

Apple is also hiring for a second Apple Store in Denver (Colorado). The new store will be in the Cherry Creek Mall area, either the mall itself (most likely) or the nearby retail area - the job listings aren't specific. The Cherry Creek mall and associated retail area are the most "upscale" retail area in the Denver Metro area, with stores like Saks Fifth Avenue, Neimann Marcus, Bang and Olufsen, Bose, and other shops aimed at affluent consumers. The Cherry Creek Mall is also Denver's No. 1 tourist destination. All in all, a good location for Apple.
