Terra Soft Solutions has announced shipment of a dual GHz G4 cluster node/server/workstation in a GVS 9000 2U Rack System with Mac OS X and Yellow Dog Linux 2.2 pre-installed. The powerful hardware is available for $3840. Wired also notes Terra Soft could be "Mac Clusters Last Stand?".

Actually, there was a big article on how scientists would rather have rack mounted G4s for clustering than x86 racks. reasons I could think of would be less heat and less power drain. Also how it kicks a** in calculations and other science jazz! :-)
I thought that only Apple hardware could run Mac OS due to the BootROM. How come these guys can do it?
This is really an amazing development and I might have to look into one of these if I ever get mega-rich.

I believe that they probably buy a G4, strip it down, re package it and then sell it like this.
