updated 10:40 am EST, Tue March 12, 2002
Tech news: A "double-free vulnerability" in the zlib compression library affects all Linux variants and some BSD variants (potentially OS X), according to c|net; Red Hat announced G4 processor and AltiVec support for its GNUPro Linux toolchain and cross compiler development tools, allowing the development of more AltiVec-enabled applications; and Microsoft has offered an olive branch to the European Commission, saying it will open up some information kept secret, which was allegedly in violation of European Union law.
