Apple will be honored this evening by the National Academy of Recording Arts and Sciences with the first ever Technical Grammy Award given to a PC company for "outstanding technical contributions to the music industry and recording field." Apple included advanced audio-processing capabilities with the original Macintosh and has been a leader in today's digital music market with its iTunes music software and iPod digital music player.

    Go Apple

Off the Subject, Does anyone know how to speed up the OS 10 Finder and what application can do it? I saw it once on the message board when the topic was os 10.1.3 update. I find it hard to find threads after they are removed from the main news page. If someone can inform me how to do the tweak and maybe navigate this confussing sight, it would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks

    So...

I guess we'll have to wait a little longer before Apple receives a technical award for introducing more than 20 years after it came to the Wintel world the 2-button mouse ...

    Speed up Finder..

Download Renicer, Nicer, any of those apps which tweaks the "nicer" function in X. (Go to terminal, type "Man nicer".) It gives the Finder a higher priority among the processes. At the expense, of course, of any other processes you're running; you don't suddenly get 110% out of your machine by pushing the Finder harder. Everything else gets slowed by the concomitant factor.

    I understood

Although i never understand why people post these tech queries/asnsas into a news comment forum. Why don't you go to the Apple troubleshooting forum or Macfixit?

You are a predictable moron. FYI my mac has five buttons on it's mouse, including a scroller, all working perfectly under OsX and 9. So what is your poit?

    well

When 0S 10.1.3 was released there was a thread in here that told how to speed up os10 for any mac. Since macnn search always seems to be fouled up and their archives don't go that far back, I can't find the info I want. I tried checking macfixit and so far nothing. I don't want to search for 3 hours when the info was right here last week.
so guy get off your high horse. And since you had nothing to contribute to topic of this thread or either my question or the other guys then maybe you need to improve your reading comprehension skills. Complain, complain, complain please find some where else to rant.
