FAXstf X 10.0.3, a free update from Smith Micro, addresses several issues in its $60 fax software package. It adds the ability to disable cover pages, port arbitration (under OS X 10.1.3), reduced CPU usage during fax transmission and while idle, support for two-byte language characters, and several bug fixes and minor enhancements.
