Apple boosting iMac stock at stores

updated 04:20 pm EST, Fri February 22, 2002

According to a reader report, the Valley Fair Apple retail store located in Santa Clara, CA now has seventy 800MHz iMac units in stock. The 800MHz model is Apple's top-of-the-line iMac configuration and includes a DVD-R drive. Earlier today we noted that the new iMac, which made a February 13 debut on Amazon was the site's fastest-selling computer ever.

    Where is this from?

I was at the Apple Store on Thursday night and a very knowledgeable guy there had said they had a waiting list of over 300 for the new iMacs and had none in stock. Maybe this is just in reference to getting units in for the backlog? Or maybe the store employees just don't know what they have in stock?

    (clarification)

"I as at THIS Apple Store..." I should have stated.

Walked in to get on the waiting list. No list. Just iMacs. Went home with one today from the Willow Bend store here in Texas.
