San Antonio Express-News columnist Paul Vaughn, 'The Mac Guy' weighs in with a review of the new Power Mac G4s. "Now, readers who may have new Windows PC’s sitting on their desks running at 1.5Ghz or higher may scoff at this feeble attempt at gigahertzdom, but we are comparing Apples and oranges here."

    what a great article

in the world of NOT. no insight or meaning, mostly just an apple press release.
the quote from MacNN is basically the extent of the article.

    YES! Hello from Texas!

Finally... hehe... San Antonio gets some recognition!

I agree with the previous post, though... not really a review... just the same damn info you can find a million other places... :P

    I so enjoy ...

... re-reading the specs of a G4. Hmmm. Maybe I should write articles also. I'll write reviews based on tech specs, and not talk about the USE of the machine.

Sure, it's nice to see attention to the G4 instead of the iMac, but at least SAY something about it ... how fast did it create a DVD? How good is it in Photoshop? Reading this, I dodn't think he actually used a new PowerMac, he's just talking about it ... it's not really a review.

    Decline of real news?

I have a review of MacNN. It seems to be reporting things that really aren't all that interesting. Par for the course to say this is fact and not actually a review.

Have they fired all the humans and installed a surfbot?

    Wrong specs

This "Mac Guy" really didn't do much research...maybe he wrote the whole article from hearsay.
What's with the 800MHz CDRW iMac model he's talking about? The 800 is only the top model...all the other models are at 700MHz. And as far as his claim that there are two faster models that come with a SuperDrive...

    Incorrect.

    Copied from the article:

    "GeForce4 MX Ti"
"Apple also throws in the cool spherical Apple Pro Speakers on the faster models." (yeah, only on the iMac, not the towers last I checked)
"four USB" (well, technicallity, but there are really only two on the computer)

Hmmmm..... someone has really been checking their facts.
    I want a GeFore 4 MX Ti!? What's that?
