MacNN Reader John Byrne writes that he has experienced a shipping delay with his iMac order:
I ordered my iMac at exactly 2pm the day of release, so I am in the first batch. Here is the latest report from Fedex (it shipped from Taiwan on 1/29)Package status ANCHORAGE AK (01/31/2002 18:34) Regulatory Agency Clearance Delay
I called FedEx, all they could say was that it will delay things, maybe till next week sometime. They could give me no reason for the action taken by the "regulatory agency."

This is the same thing that occured with the iBook 500 when they first came out. Although I didn't have any problem with it being held up in Anchorage, there was many reports of people having theirs stuck there for a few days.
