Architosh reports on results from Pro Mac Survey, indicating quad-processor macs as the first choice for 3D Mac users and Vue d'Esprit 4 for Mac OS X and a new version of BOA 2.4.

I'd rather a dual 2ghz G4 over a Quad 1ghz G4.
For one, any app not MP aware can still use 2GHz of power.
And an MP PS or AE is not quite optimum (4times) performance ... doing something in AE may be like something equal to 3.6 ghz ...
and something where MP is not implemented all the time, I'd like 2ghz driving the app instead of 1ghz, while 3 other chips just sit around.
And equivelent to this is using a dual 1ghz G4 or a 1.6ghz AMD ... anything MP aware will maybe give you the same speed ... anything not, and the AMD is now twice as fast as the G4 ..

Of course, I haven't been able to install it... it gives me permission errors, even though I have admin privs. I already sent them a note, let's see if they fix it quickly.
There was apparently the same problem on windows. They have a patch for it... but so far not mac.

The demo
I wrote e-onsoftware just after MacWorld asking when a demo of Vue de Esprit 4 would be available for OSX. Well they told me it was going to be available 2-3 weeks ago. Still no demo.
It'll be worth the wait, I use Vue de Espirit 3 for win2k, and it's some really swank software.
