    Mac OS 10.1.3

Since Apple has now updated three sectors of it's hardware matrix since MacWorld (the first shipping starting today), the iMacs at Macworld were running a new OS build (likely needed for new hardware support), I would predict Mac OS 10.1.3 will be released in the next few days. Do you think Apple would let customers recieve a new Mac with an unreleased version of the OS on it?

    re: Mac OS 10.1.3

Sure they would. Remember when the QuickSilvers first came out last July? They were shipping with 9.2 preinstalled, and the general-purpose 9.2.1 update for everybody wasn't released for IIRC another month or so.

What'll probably happen is that the new machines ship with 10.1.2, but with a slightly later build than the current shipping one. There won't be any additional functionality, just new hardware support. This has happened previously as well.

Still, I would expect 10.1.3 soon; according to MacFixit, the beta was seeded not too long ago, so hopefully it's almost ready.

    Superdrive

As far as I can tell this is the same Superdrive... same read and write speeds as before, the only faster aspect is the video encoding, which I hope would be faster on the new, faster processors.
