MBE shuns Mac users with 'Price It' service

Jared Traum reports that the 'Price It' section of the Mail Boxes Etc. website is apparently for Microsoft Windows users only: "I was appalled by this lack of service and wrote them an complaint email. I told MBE I would no longer be using their services and would let my friends, family, and clients know to find other places to do their packing and shipping." Concerned parties can contact MBE.

    MBE = We Hate Macs

    I sent them an eMail. I told them if they can not find the time or declare it 'Not worth it" to bring mac support, i told them it would be "not worth it" to ship my packages through them. I also took the time to tell them i can pack/ship at office depot for more then half the price. that should be some type of motavation =)

    Big deal

    MBE is a total rip-off outlet. They mark up UPS rates by like 300%, and charge $5 for a small cardboard box. If people were aware of how much MBE charges for the convenience, they would have closed shop a long time ago.

    Works ok on OSX/iBook

    FWIW, according to their page, my iceBook running M$IE and OSX 10.1.2 meets the requirements. I get 2 little green "ok" icons.

    Didn't go any further than that though.

    rip-off

    Yeah, MBE can be a big rip off. I used to work there, so I should know. But yeah, some of their rates are up to 300% above what they pay, but it really varies. It's not always that high. Keep in mind, that's over their rate, which is not the rate that you would get at UPS... they ship in much higher quantities than the average person does.

    But I agree, they are overpriced. Their arguement is that it's for the convenience, and plenty of people are willing to pay it.

    I hope they fix their Mac issues... I'm pretty close to never setting foot in an MBE store again.

    Tried it. Seems to work.

    I tried out "Price It" on my Powerbook Wallstreet, Mac OS 9.1. So their prices are high, and they don't know Macs exist, but the "Price It" service seems to work on Macs fine.
