Addonics yesterday introduced a sleek new combination DVD/CDRW drive. The Addonics Pocket DVD/CDRW drive is available in FireWire ($430), CardBus ($415) and USB 2.0 ($400) interfaces. It features an 8x DVD player, 8x CDRW burner, and a 24x CD-ROM drive that weighs 14 ounces. (Software bundle is for Window-only.)

    What's the point?

    According to the Addonics site info the drive will only work as a CD-ROM on Macs, so why even bother mentioning it here? I'm sure not gonna spend money on a burner that I can't even burn with...

    I may be wrong about whether or not it will burn, but the phrase "also works as" is confusing.
