NoteHeads Musical Expert Systems today released an update to its $300 scorewriting software, Igor Engraver 1.6. It offers performance improvements, drawing layers, and the ability to read NIFF files, allowing users to import printed sheet music into Igor Engraver for playback, editing and printing, and also import NIFF files generated by other music notation software. It is a free upgrade for owners of v1.4 and v1.5.
