Several MacNN readers report that Adam Iser has posted Adium v1.5b for Mac OS X. Adium is a free Mac OS X AIM client with many features. Version 1.5 adds several features including full multitasking, support for custom alert sounds and more buddy list customization options.

Actually, Adium support any protocol other than AIM. It's still great software, though.
That's _doesn't_ support, mind you.
my mistake. it's awesome for what it does, which is about 95% of what's needed out there...an aim client without all the bad stuff aol gives you on their client.

Adium beats AIM
It's free and very good. Can't imagine going back to AIM with all it's bloat and advertising. Adium does one thing and it does it well....it gives you chat over most of the different protocols (AIM, MSG, ICQ, etc.).
