Apple has released AirPort Driver Update 2.01 via the software update control panel. It includes an updated driver for the AirPort Card and new firmware for the original AirPort Base Station (Graphite). The update brings two significant changes:

"(1) The updated AirPort driver improves robustness and prompts for a password when joining a password-protected "Computer to Computer" network....(2) The firmware update for the original base station (Graphite) provides better connections to some Internet service providers that use Point-to-Point Protocol over Ethernet (PPPoE)."

    Thanks Apple but...

    Thanks, Apple---I have found your ABS software to be excellent. Unfortunately my ABS died last week the sudden, infinite reboot cycling death after just one year, 18 days of operation. It's not in the S/N group for which you have agree to fix this problem, though, so I guess I won't need this update!

    System Preferences is the app. Software Update is a Control Panel housed within the System Preferences app.

    updater for os9 only?

    I downloaded the updater in os9, then later checked while running OSX and the Software Updater said i didn't need it. My Airport software did not appear to be updated in OSX and I found an AirportDriverUpdater.pkg in my /library/receipts folder. when I ran it I got an error and it said to try installing again but it does not work. What am I missing? I have a new 2.0 base station...
