The California Public Employeesí Retirement System is honoring Apple for "positive and courageous contributions in corporate governance" with its CalPERS Corporate Governance Award of Courage. Other winners were the board of directors at Texas Instruments, Tim Warner's chairman and CEO Gerald M. Levin and retiring General Motor's director John G. Smale.
