Jobs: No merging Macs with TVs

A Reuters interview with Steve Jobs talks about Apple's future, noting that Apple may still have a few surpises, the differences between the new "revolutionary" design of the iMac as compared with the short-lived Cube, and the convergence of computers and television.

Digital Hub?
Love the Mac, but what Sony's doing right now with their new Vaio MX series of desktops just looks a heck of a lot more like a "digital hub" than my G4 that there is literally zero options for next-generation TiVO-like time-shifting as in the Radeon All-In-Wonder, WinTV PVR, or AverTV Studio cards. Regardless of whether or not SJ thinks the computer is going to replace the TV, it's clear that with the options now available in digital cable, HDTV, etc the "analog TVs and digital PCs don't mix" argument is fading fast. And more importantly that storage and editing of dynamic multimedia on the PC (whether it's driven into homes by a cable box or a cable modem) is only just starting to explode as a massive new consumer market - a market virtually screaming for best-of-class video/audio/photo-editting apps like Apple's own iApps.
Think different Steve.
