ScanSoft ships OmniPage Pro X OCR

ScanSoft today began shipping OmniPage Pro X for, a new version of the "world's most popular" optical character recognition (OCR) software. The $150 application includes native OS X operation, the ability to convert static PDF documents that contain text, tables and graphics into fully editable online documents; nearly 50 percent increase in OCR accuracy over competing products,; the ability to create PDF files; spreadsheet/table recognition' Web page creation; Office integration, and voice playback of documents.
