Sonnet debuts ATA/133 PCI card, new rebate

Sonnet has announced its Tempo RAID133 PCI controller for G3 and G4 Macs, which offers the option of RAID striping (Level 0) with startup support and data transfer rates of up to 133 MB/s.

The $200 Tempo RAID133 ships with two independent ATA buses and two 40-pin 80-wire cables which support up to two drives each (one master and one slave). it is expected to ship later this month.

Sonnet is also offering a $10 rebate coupon on purchases of each of Piccolo USB Flash Drive, Tempo ATA100 PCI Host Adapter, Tango FireWire/USB Combo card with any purchase of either the Crescendo/PCI, Encore/ZIF, or Encore/ST Duet upgrade. The promo runs through March 2002 and offers $35 with the purchase of products in all 3 lines when purchased along with one of the upgrades.

    better be better

    Than the ATA100 which is useless, crashses the Mac every 5 mintues. I replaced it with a Miglia 133 which is way better :-)

    Sonnet ATA 100

    My G4 won't even boot OS 9.2.2 with it in the PCI slot although OSx seems to work. They deny any problems. Don't buy it. Find a brand that works.
