We are pleased to offer a new service to our readers starting today: an IRC chat server for live discussion. Join irc.macnn.com with your favorite IRC client, such as Ircle or Snak (both clients are available for Mac OS 9 and Mac OS X). Additionally, we will be making available a Java-based front-end to our IRC chat server for our readers who do not wish to install a complete IRC client. Happy chatting, and we hope to see you there!

    Macworld Hype

    I know this is off topic but for those of you who are checking apple.com every day to see what hype apple is spewing in anticipation of the greatest MacWorld ever, today's makes at least two star trek references so far. STAR TREK! Maybe they're just trying to appeal to the nerds but what if it is a clue? STAR TREK! You remember what Star Trek means at Apple don't you?

    hope it won't be

    as slow as your website.
    it seems like your site is in need of some major bandwidth. why would you waste what little you have on an irc server? there's thousands of others that we can just join in on.
