Apple Stores to carry Jobs' keynote

updated 02:50 pm EST, Thu January 3, 2002

MacNN reader David Jones notes that in addition to Apple's Webcast and Satellitecast and TechTV's live coverage, readers can attend the keynote at any Apple Store:

"Just to let everyone know, apparently anyone can attend the Steve's Keynote Speech in the Apple Retail Stores. The retail stores are handing out invitations, but you don't need one to attend the Theater Event. I guess there has been some confusion over this. The Apple Stores are open for business so that means anyone can sit in! Be warned--they are apparently standing room only!"

Er ... I may have missed it, but will MacNN have live reports coming in about the keynote? I remember them doing this at least once before. Since I can't take 2 or 3 hours out of my work day to watch it, I'd like to have it updating in the background so I can at least get info. Oh, I know I'm a geek. Here at work they've cut off all forms of streaming media so I can't even have it playing in the background while I work.

    anyone know ...

    oh, and ... first post?

    :-P

    Snowman...

Snowman, if you want up to the minute reports don't visit MacNN. Their website is always busy during that event. Visit www.macminute.com for the very latest feeds. They offer refreshed web pages every so often during the keynote.

    MacNN keynote

    Hi ddukes,

What they had one time was a separate window open, then constantly had text popping in, like someone typing in chat and hitting enter, almost every 30 seconds or so. It was a live updating window of just text as new things were said ... It seemed to work quite well as you didn't need to sit and update/refresh the page.

but hey, I'll check out macminute.

    thanks

The best thing is to find as many of these sites doing this as possible. They update at different times, so you'll always have the freshest info possible.

does anyone else think it's a SpyMac hoax?
do any MacNN readers even know about it? Seems strange that MacNN and other rumor sites didn't pick this up yet. I wouldn't be surprised if it was actually an Apple hoax. (!!!) ^_^
