...especially when compared to the likes of US currency. I personally feel that the Euro is one of the most aesthetically pleasing currencies...in fact, as my Senior project for graphic design, I studied the Euro, and created a book based on their individual designs. I also appreciate the fact that the European Central Bank supplied me with slides of each note's front and back sides as source material. All in all a wonderful experience...I love the Euro :)
New European Union???? So, we have a new European union these days? Dont think so...... probably posted by an american, i guess.
"On January 1, 1999, member nations in the new European Union (EU) officially adopted the euro as its common currency—a move intended to build a single European market with a single, stable monetary system. But before the EU could issue new money, it first had to design it."
That's the quote from the original article. Perhaps if you'd bother to read the text in full, you'd understand it.
Oh, and I'm European. You moron.
aesthetically pleasing currencies?
I think they are a strange combination of high tech safety features combined with old fashion subjects. Europe is more to me than a bunch of old bridges and buildings, but it's true, the majority of Europe's leaders are a bit old fashioned.
Actually, you sound like the typical American: ignorant of the world around you. Of course there's an EU, man. But what do you care, right?
The new notes are so unreal, one German restrauant owner found monopoly money when cashing his register last night. Euro notes - Ha Ha. :O
Then try to find something that's common among all EU-states, but does not exist in a particular one only.
Hard? Impossible? Nope, buildings are everywhere, it's that simple.
well, the euro bills don't look as good as the former dutch guilder:

but they are a h*** of a lot nicer than the toilet paper that is used for printing us dollars.
The US dollar is probably the worst currency design there could be. How many times could someone possibly mistake a $1 bill with a $100 .... yeah, ALL GREEN ... I can grab into my wallet and easily pull out a $5, $10 or $20 without hesitation here in Canada ...
