Sonnet Technologies today made several announcements: (Post a comment)

  • Tempo RAID66 - a high-performance, UltraATA RAID PCI card, offering support for striping with a claimed theoretical transfer rate of up to 130 MB/sec. The card also supports booting from the RAID. It is shipping now for $200.
  • G3/G4 upgrade price drops - prices have been reduced $50-$100 on several upgrades, including the G4/400/1M PCI (now $400), G4/400/1M ZIF (now $500), and G4/500/1M (now $700).
  • NuBus/Tango rebates - users who purchase the Tango USB/FireWire PCI card can receive a $10 rebate, or a $25 rebate if another Sonnet upgrade is purchased as well; mail-in rebates from $30-$50 are available on the company's line of G3 upgrades for NuBus-based first-generation Power Macs.
